Republicans it seems, do not have much to work with in 2012

Can you really imagine Rush Limbuagh or Sarah Palin standing a chance in 2012? I certainly cannot, and if steele, romney, and bobby are the only other candidates I do not think that their is much chance either. Romney has already proven that he cannot win (he came in 3rd place!), and steele and bobby do not give the impression of being serious enough to elect.

The republican party really needs to step back and be cautious about Rush Limbaugh/Sarah Palin types because the vast majority of intelligent people see them as a joke. Republicans will have a much better chance of winning in 2012 if they are more moderate, I do not feel that their is enough of a conservative base for them to rely on. If obama's policies do not help the economy, the republican candidate can definitley win on that aspect. This said many people from the left and moderates may be much more likely to vote for a Jim Krameresquian type Republican than a right wing conservative like Sarah Palin or Rush L. By this I mean someone who is strong in financial know how and is republican because of economic views and not because of nutty religion. ( Blogger reccomends watching Religulous by Bill Maher and reading the book The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins)
